Honesty is more than not lying. It is truth telling, truth speaking, truth living, and truth loving. – James E. Faust

Happy Monday! Do you know that honesty really is the best policy? Not just honesty with others, but the truth within you. I recently posted about the truths we tell regarding others and how important it is to look in the mirror (see Start With You….). It’s vital that we always remember the importance of being truthful and not masking our true feelings.

Masking your true feelings means walking further away from how you really feel. Understand that in some situations how you feel isn’t the correct way to think, however, your feelings are yours. There are times, especially at work when I can’t shake negative feelings I have about something or someone. Deep down I know that the way I feel is dead wrong, however, I don’t ignore my feelings nor do I share them verbally with others. Instead, I ask God to work on me. God knows me inside and out and if I refuse to be truthful with myself, how can I ever acknowledge my shortcomings to God to allow Him to work on me?

Telling the truth about your feelings will impact how you act and sums up who you are.  Apart of loving yourself is being honest with you. For the sake of your sanity, stay truthful and ask God to work on the areas that need change. The consequence of not being honest is creating a fictional world to justify not telling the truth about your life. You will begin drifting so far from the truth that you won’t be able to differentiate what’s real.

Tell the whole truth to yourself and ask God for guidance on what to do with your real feelings. Love who you are and work each day to become a better you.

From my inspirational corner to yours, have a blessed Monday.
