Hi SHE Fam! So after a month of whipping my Virgin Indian Body Wave hair extensions back and forth, I’ve decided to my sew-in down. The hair was still fantastic and I could have worn it a tad bit longer, however, I needed a fresh hair-do for an upcoming obligation, so I decided to rock out with my real hair. Needless to say, I’m going through withdrawals. I desperately miss my hair extensions and already planning for my next install.
My Final Review
What I liked most about having hair extensions was the ease of looking fabulous. I posted before on all that hair extensions have to offer you (see The Effect That Hair Extensions Have ). Hair extensions worked for my life mostly because I’m on the go, I live in a region that gets extremely hot and it’s one less excuse on why I can’t slay in the gym. Initially, I was concerned about taking care of the hair. Thanks to my trusty flex-rods, I was able to use little heat on my extensions. The quality of hair from Sheena’s Hair Emporium eliminated my concern by far. I didn’t experience shedding, the hair washed well and it blended perfectly with my own hair.
I can’t think of anything I would have done different with my install and hair. My hair is a tad bit fine so of course I experienced a few issues with the sew-in holding. However, the stylist that installed it did tighten it to ensure it was secure and that I was able to wear it for up to two months. Overall, I absolutely loved rocking hair extensions and they worked very well for me.
When deciding to take my sew-in out, I let my best friend (who knows hair very well), remove my extensions. It took right at 20 minutes to take down the extensions, but roughly an hour to wash and condition my hair. Because this was my first install, I did major research on the shedding one will experience after taking down a sew-in. I was no different. My hair did shed quite a bit, however, after a good 3 washes and deep conditioning, I was back. I used OGX Vitamin E Shampoo and Conditioner. I also used Nexxus Leave-In Spray to help detangle my hair after washing and conditioning.
Following up from my own wash and condition, I went to a scheduled hair appointment with my stylist. Whereas, I’m pretty good at maintaining my hair, I wanted my stylist to clip my ends, and help give my tresses a little more life. She did that and more! My hair grew quite a bit in the month I had my sew-in and coming from a short cut, I’m almost at a bob (yes, I said almost).
I believe it’s important to give your hair a break in between installs. And although, rocking my real hair seems much different, I’m satisfied with the versatility of being able to wear both my own hair and my hair from Sheena’s Hair Emporium.
With sass and class.
