Good Morning! Welcome back to Her Inspirational Corner. I love the idea of social media trends for positive use. The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge and the compassion shown for tragic events across the world proves that we are aware of what’s going on around us. I’m also a huge fan of hashtags and really enjoy looking through post where people have used the popular expression. One of my favorite hashtags is Transformation Tuesday. Trend Expert, Elise Moreau explains #TransformationTuesday as a popular trend that people create on Instagram and Facebook that communicates that something or someone in the photo has changed or “transformed” over time.

Tell me the idea of this isn’t exciting! Even if your transformation doesn’t display a physical change, it’s important to celebrate our emotional growth. Let me tell you why….. Where there is a transformation there is a testimony.

I love painting a picture to illustrate a story — so imagine looking at a post where a young lady uses a picture collage to showcase two pictures. The picture on the left shows her at 21 years old, lacking all of the confidence in the world with a broken smile. The picture on the right shows this same woman smiling and enjoying her beauty at 28 years old…super sharp, rocking it out with her Virgin Indian Curly from Sheena’s Hair Emporium. The post is bigger than her picture, it’s her story.

Many of us have gone through times in life where we didn’t feel good about ourselves. Again, it doesn’t have to be physical. The woman in my example could have been just as gorgeous at 21 years old as she is at 28, however, we don’t know what caused that broken smile. What if she was in an unhealthy relationship? What if she had low self-esteem? Better yet, what if she was suffering from severe depression?

We don’t know what’s behind many of the pictures we see, hurt or happy. However, most people can attest to hiding hurt.

If you have reached your happy point and proud of who you are, take the time to thank God for growth and positive changes in your life. Don’t hesitate to celebrate yourself with a #TransformationTuesday post.

If you have yet to achieve the proud feeling that a positive change brings, don’t give up, but instead thank God in advance because the best is yet to come.

Jillian Michaels says it best, “Transformation is not five minutes from now; it’s a present activity. In this moment you can make a different choice, and it’s these small choices and successes that build up over time to help cultivate a healthy self-image and self-esteem.”

From my inspirational corner to yours, have an amazing Tuesday!
