Blueberries

This yummy fruit is much more than a quick easy way to grab a snack. Blueberries are jam packed with anti-oxidants¬†which fight against common signs of aging. Who wants to be mistaken for a 40 year old when they’re 20? I’m pretty sure the answer is no one. Eating blueberries also give your body a heaping dose of vitamin C which also improves skin health by increasing the body’s production of collagen.

Whole Wheat Bread

This goodie makes the list because it aids in digestion. If you know anything about digestion’s relationship to complexion and skin health then you got this connection immediately. Proper digestion is incredibly important because without it, toxins build up in your system and your skin will be one of the major systems affected. Having a body free of toxin buildup means you’ll have a clearer healthier complexion.

Avocado

I couldn’t make a list about foods that are great for skin health without including avocado. They are literally a super food because they include so many vital nutrients and vitamins. Eating avocados provides your body with vitamins A and C, fiber, and healthy fats. Not all fat is bad. Without healthy fats, your skin would look very sunken and lifeless. Fiber aids in digestion and we already talked about the importance of digestion.

Sweet Potatoes

Sweet potatoes make the list for so much more than being a delicious naturally sweet root vegetable. Sweet potatoes are full of vitamin A (which is known to help reduce wrinkles and other signs of aging). It’s a common ingredient in most anti-aging products but it’s much healthier for you to get it from natural sources like sweet potatoes and other foods that contain vitamin A.

Water

This one is a no brainer but the extent to which water affects our skin may not be. Let’s compare our skin to raisins. Think about how dry and wrinkled and shriveled they are. That’s because they’re grapes that have been depleted of water. When your skin becomes water deficient, it will react the same way. Your face will develop fine lines, creases, and wrinkles. Which means you look much older than you actually are. Water equals plump, healthy, and moisturized skin. So drink up!

Now that we have unearthed the natural and healthy ways for you to beautify yourself, eat up and guzzle a bottle of water. Your skin will thank you!
